The DEVELOPMENT and TEST environments wrap a bank's development and test systems. DEVELOPMENT servers are used by Sandbox and bank employees to build and internally test integrations. TEST environments are used by banks and their partners for quality assurance and user acceptance testing.
PRODUCTION environments are connected to a bank's production systems. Consequently, PRODUCTION services will pertain to real bank customer, deposit, and monetary transactions — all related API invocation and credential handling should be performed cautiously!
